College

From September 2018 to May 2022, I had the opportunity to attend Boston University. I graduated with a degree in Computer Science. It was here I was able to hone my programming skills by being constantly challenged with tasks such as executing a heartbleed attack, creating a tor circut, or working on various software engineering projects. In addition to these things, I was able to learn from professors who are leading pioneers in their fields. For the first two years I spent at BU, we learned fundementals in both Java and Python. Following this I began taking classes in both software engineering and cybersecurity. I chose cybersecurity because this is the field that interests me the most. It is a filed that is ever changing and gives me the chance to learn evveryday. I chose to also focus on software engineering because it would present unique challenges that I wouldn't find in other fields such as website construction from scratch. In addition to this, I chose software engineering was because I thought it would better aid me in understanding cybersecurity, since attacks like SQL Injections happen because of poor software engineering practices.

Future endevors

I recently obtained my OSCP certification, bringing the total number of certs I have to two (OSCP and CompTIA Security+). Now, I'm looking forward to taking the first steps into entering the cybersecurity field. Ideally I would like to be a part of a company where I would have a large opportunity to grow both my network and knowledge. My long term goal is to get into offensive cybersecurity such as being a penetration tester. While I know I may not start here, I believe that the skills I acquire from other jobs will help me get there.
